Privacy Notice

The Fine Print is a static website. There are no accounts, no comment forms, and no newsletter.

What we collect

• Page-view counts, without identifying you. We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we run ourselves. It records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from (for example, a search engine or Pinterest), and the browser and country in aggregate. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses in a form that identifies you, and does not follow you across other sites. We use these counts only to see which articles are useful.
• No advertising trackers. We run no ad networks and no third-party tracking pixels.
• Hosting logs. The site is delivered by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical data such as your IP address to serve the pages and protect against abuse, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Third-party links

Articles link to sellers, affiliate networks, and official information pages. When you follow an affiliate link, the destination site and its network may set cookies to record that you came from here; that is how commissions are attributed. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

If we ever add analytics or any other data collection, this page will be updated first, with the date of the change.
